Interactive card using Papericious paper and Gorjuss girl stamp

Hi everyone

I made a tonne of cards in August but somehow did not get time to post pics on my blog! Here is one I made using Papericious paper pack. Made it for August challenge but evidently I missed posting it here! Nevertheless, here is an interactive card:

Since I used delicate stuff like those pearl beads, the card was a bit difficult to put through post. But I managed to glue it using the strong adhesive- glossy accents, and it went through smoothly, and reached by friend without any damage.

And another friend demanded a similar card for his girlfriend. So, I made one using the same paper pack but different paper:

Hope you like it! Here are the supplies I used:
1. Gorjuss stamp set
2. Papericious paper pack
3. Marvy Uchida matachables brush markers
4. glossy accents

Interactive card: Purple Rakhi card

Supplies used:
1. DCWV paper pack
2. Little Birdie flowers and butterfly

Birthday card: snowflake

Hi everyone,

I posted this card long ago on Instagram (it's just so easy with phone in your hand), but blogging it was eluding me. Finally, it's here. I made this for entering the Papericious challenge for July 2016. Here is the extremely versatile moodboard they have for the month:

Everything about this moodboard invokes creativity. I made this card using Papericious Color celebrations paper pad. I wanted more of a gender neutral card, but then it's a girl this is meant for. So, I used the combination of glitter and doily to make this card:

For the centerpiece snowflake, I used a Sizzix snowflake die, and for the rest, I used 2 sizes of snowflake punch. Here is a closer look at the card where you can see the dimension a little better:

And finally, i realised I lacked a sentiment to go with this modern looking design. So, I decided to write my own. The lines on this paper made it really easy to write in a straight line.

I outlined the word "snowflake" with a silver pen! not so visible here. :(

I hope you visit Papericious blog; they do have some pretty awesome inspiration for card makers, and of course, pretty paper designs. :)

Thanks for visiting. Have fun! :)

Shaker card: Rainbow green

Hi everyone

I made a shaker card today! And this one has green basics just to complement the green of the card stock I used. First, I die cut the squares using Spellbinders dies. Then I put sequins in a rainbow order in all four of the squares. Finally I coloured a flourish using Mudra "special day" stamp. The sentiment is from the same stamp.

Here are some pics:

Hope you got inspired!
Have a nice day! :)

Stamping using acrylic stamps

Hey there!

We all know that acrylic stamps have taken the world of rubber stamps by a storm. These are not only cheaper, buy allow better stamp quality. Acrylic stamps take most types of ink really well.

Using acrylic stamps with permanent alcohol markers:

- Most acrylic stamps take alcohol markers pretty well. This is a great way to let your sentiment's ink match perfectly with the rest of your project.
- Many crafters fear the inks will ruin their stamps, and sadly it is partially true. Alcohol inks harm stamps, and shorten their life. Therefore, try doing it only when you run out of options. Just remember to clean up your stamp immediately after use using a wet wipe.
-Even if the colour shows through your stamp, it means the stamp has taken up ink really well.

Using acrylic stamps with dye inks:

- Dye inks are bright, permanent inks which last for a longer time than pigment inks.
- Dye inks work extremely well with acrylic inks.

Using acrylic stamps with pigment inks or chalk inks:

- Pigment inks are less bright as compared to dye inks.
-Chalk inks are nothing but more concentrated pigment inks.

Using acrylic stamps with acrylic paints:

- You would not believe this but if you are short on cash to buy inkpads, go with the inexpensive acrylic paints.
- Acrylic paints do tend to spread out while stamping, so avoid stamping sentiments using this technique.
-A great trick here is to use second generation stamping for a perfect image.
- Do NOT dilute paint with water for this technique as water tends to make the paint less sticky for the stamp surface.

Using acrylic stamps with distress inks:

- Nope, distress inks do not stick to acrylic stamps properly. But it really depends on the quality of your stamp. The better it is, the better it will take up distress ink.
- This technique is a fun way of stamping and colouring without solid border around the image.

Hope this helps. :)
Enjoy!

CRD1516: Anniversary card

Hello everyone.. Looks like I create so many cards and scrapbooks but hardly gather the time to edit and upload pics. Here I decided to just post them unedited. Blame my laziness. :P

Yellow is such a soft and pretty colour, isn't it? This card is somewhat off balance in terms of the arrangement of flowers coz I made it with my young cousins...and they liked this arrangement! So we went with it!

Yet, it turned out fine I believe!

Almost everything I used here is low budget- chinese floral fabric tape, square punch (small), bangle!!! I hope you give this project a try! :)

Thankyou for visiting my blog. Have a nice day. :)

Thank you card using TCW stencil

Hi everyone,

Winter has officially arrived in Game of thrones. But with temperatures rising up in Delhi, I had to create a quick card for someone I wanted to thank so dearly. So, I made this #masculine card.
I used modelling paste to create some dimension. And of course, this had to be a shaker card!

I hope you like it and find some inspiration. :)

Supplies used:
1. Modelling paste by Mont marte
2. Artistry ink
3. Sizzlits dies Alpha bubbles

Bookmark- flowers

Hii

I have for you a pretty and quite feminine bookmark. It has a magnetic lock, so it adheres to the book very well.
I kept the dimension to a minimum. The key stamp is from #itsybitsy, which I embossed using WOW embossing powder. I coloured a thick thread using alcohol marker. And the easiest thing to do here was punching out these flowers and colouring them with red marker.
I cut the leaves from a scrap green paper.

Hope you enjoyed it.
Until later! :)

Scrapbook page: carpe diem

Hello all

I made a scrapbook page today using a 12X12 handmade paper. I tried to use as much scrap as possible to embellish it.
Scraps used: a bangle, tags that come alongwith clothes, newspaper clipping (yes, it's the Vodafone pug), post-it notes.
I used a stencil to first apply some modelling paste, and while it was dry, I sprinkled white glitter on it.

This is for #lulupuchallenges Challenge no. 60. It is inspired by their beautiful mood board. I loved the idea of overlapping circles and incorporated in the bangle and flower portion. In fact, you can see the circles everywhere in this scrapbook page!

I hope you enjoyed this.

Thankyou for visiting. Have a nice day!

Birthday card: Pink polka

Hi everyone

I made a birthday card today: it's pink and it's polka.
I created this card for +luluputv Challenge#60. I used my 1" circle punch to punch out some thick vellum, which I then coloured using sketch pens. Sketch pens are water based pens. They are cheap and handy. However, if used on paper, they bleed out after a while, as water gets into the pores of paper. But same is not the case with vellum.

Don't forget to blend the colour using your finger or a wet wipe. I used plain old tissue tape to stick them to the card surface, and the colouring hid the tape so neatly.

I used some glossy accents on the stamped balloons and white sakura gelly roll pen to colour the sentiment.

I used some shiny organza ribbon and a golden wire for more interest.
Since the panel was a bit smaller than the card bae, I coloured my card base using alcohol ink markers, so that it remains permanent.

Here is how it looks on the inside.

I got inspired by the translucent polkas on the moodboard for this Challenge.
They look so simple, and simple is definitely pretty!

Birthday easel card

Hello everyone! Today I will be showing you my easel card, with a window at the top panel. It was really fun to make.

As you can see, the thick pearl holds the card steady in place.
I scribbled the word 'sisters' and used acrylic orange to paint over it, and glazed it with some golden paint, just for some shimmer, and to make my card more interesting.
Oh! I also added some shimmer over a printed sentiment for the inside panel:

Thanks for stopping by! Enjoy! :)

Art Journal Page: Last stage of love (Step by step tutorial)

Hi everyone

This art journal page is so simple and yet so lively. You don't need to be an artist to draw or paint these flowers. And the theme is just breathtaking, as it symbolises the last stage of love- death!

Step 1 is to draw flowers. You can do this on a plain piece of paper but I wanted the page to have some more character and depth, so I drew some plain, old, regular flowers on these pages of an old book using a  REGULAR GEL Pen, as the colours I have used here do not bleed the pen at all.

Here is how it will look at the moment.

Step 2 is to colour these pretty little things. Can you believe it, I used just 1 acrylic colour to paint all these flowers- red! Using different quantities of water with my acrylic colour, I was able to get this effect. I painted the leaves green. I drew only a few leaves, partly because I wanted the flowers to be the main focus and partly because I forgot drawing them. :P

The centre of the flowers needed more precise coloring. Lazy people like me do not want to use paintbrush in such small places. So I used Sakura gelly roll pens to colour the centre. Since the pen set does not have dark green, I resorted to a Camel dark green marker lying around.

Finally I painted the white space black! And oh the page comes out in its prettiest form.

But there seemed to be no space to put my sentiment, so I drew some white lines using Sakura gelly roll pen and then used some white texture paste to fade out a rectangle on my right page. And finally handwrote my quote, with a black gel pen flanked by a white gel pen.

To add more depth, i added white dots to the flower border. and here's a final look:

I hope it encouraged you to draw your own art journal and make something really bright and funky and pretty!
Thanks for stopping by! Enjoy~

Bookmark-Smile

Hello everyone! Reading a book is so much more fun when you have a pretty bookmark. I made this one for a friend. While making a bookmark, I took care that the dimension be kept to a minimum. I hope it inspires you to create your own bookmark.

Just for you card #CRD1514

I just got this yellow fabric tape and couldn't wait to use it. Here, I have created a standard card decorated with handmade roses and punch flowers. The feather and the leaves just add depth and dimension to my card. A tutorial for the card is coming soon! Enjoy!
