Art Journal | Mission Inspiration | Feb 2017

Hello everyone,

Happy Sunday to you all! I finished making Feb 2017 art journal page following Mike Deakin's Mission Inspiration for the year. So, here is the set of instructions we were to follow:
I did everything, except adding a Washi tape, as you can see my page was looking quite full on its own:

The greyish colours on the motifs here are actually teal blue in metallic paint, therefore they shine a little differently depending on the lighting.

Brief step by step process:
1. Prime a craft paper using texture paste, and do stencilling using Monte Marte modelling paste. Let it dry.
2. Spritzer some colours, darker on the edges.
3. For the hearts: Stamp some music script using watermark ink and fold the paper in half. Draw half hearts on the edge and cut out neatly for a heart that is uniform on both sides. (I hope that makes sense. :P)
4. Glue book fragments and the hearts cut out in step 3.
5. Add focal image, as it'll give you a more clear space for putting the sentiment/journaling.
6. Splatter with black and white acrylic paints.

A few more close ups:

Materials used:
1. Motif stencil
2. TCW Art is stencil
3. Little Birdie colour splash
4. Camlin watercolour brush pens
5. BoBunny Alpha
6. Camlin pearl blue acrylic paint
7. Cranberry crush Artistry ink
8. Inkadinkado music script stamp set
8. Camlin gel medium

I hope you got some ideas and got inspired. Feel free to ask any questions in the comments below. Thank you for visiting. :)

Until next time,

Planner cover page | Dream and hope

Hello hello,

After being MIA on my blog (I have been active on Instagram; follow me @sweety.1203), here is a cover page I did for my pretty planner. I wanted it to be girly and pink and dreamy and inspiring! So, here it is:
And it just looks perfect for the plans I have in mind for myself for new year 2017!
I am sorry that I do not have a video tutorial for this yet, but I promise I will be making one soon.
Step by step process:
1. Die cut some foliage leaves and colour them using the yellowish green Marvy uchida markers. Die cut flowers and swirls using plain white copier paper. Use embossing tool or the back of a painting brush to give all the die cuts slight dimension. This will make the elements pop.
2. Also die cut a fence using this Impression Obsession die.
3. White emboss the words "dream" and "hope" using itsybitsy stamp set.
4. Fussy cut both words.
5. Take a thick sheet of paper the size your planner is, and paste a pink page from DCWV All girl 180 sheets paper pack.
6. Stamp on the paper using Artistry roasted chestnut ink and clock stamp.
7. Trace a circle using an object of that size, and arrange and paste all the elements.
8. Stick some pre-made flowers and butterflies to give the wreath arrangement a finished look.

I hope you enjoyed this, and would give it a try! Happy crafting!

Until next time,

Scrapbook page 3 using Little Birdie kit

Hi everyone,

I hope you are having a great day! I made this LO using the same Little Birdie scrapbook page kit I used for my previous 2 posts. Working with a black background actually makes things easy sometimes.
Step by step process:
1. Stamp frames and sentiments using Kaisercraft Enchanted garden stamp set.
2. Apply Studio G green glitter glue to these frames and butterflies.
3. Apply white acrylic paint through a floral stencil to the main scrapbook page.
4. Glue black and white polka dots page from DCWVRecollection paper pack.
5. Paste the frames from step 1 and the white frame included in the kit.
6. Arrange the alphabet stickers to write name and "lovely day".
7. Stick the black borders (also included in the kit) around the designer paper for a finished look.

Here's a closer look at the frames' arrangement:

I hope you find some inspiration in this page. :)

Until next time,
